Pushing On A Pull Door
Have you ever tried to push a door open that clearly had a pull sign on it? I have found myself slamming into a door then feeling slightly embarrassed when I realized it said pull. You know, that moment when you take a look around to see if anyone saw what just happened.
I’ve recently witnessed someone else pushing on a pull door which reminded me that For King And Country sings a song, Pushing on a Pull Door, which further prompted me to ponder on this concept.
Jesus said in John 10:9,” I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” Jesus also says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Have you ever wondered which door to enter, which way to turn, what the truth was, and the meaning of life? Jesus is the answer to all these questions.
So, let me ask you. What are you doing with Jesus? Are you pushing on the door when it clearly says to pull? James 4:8 says, Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Are you waiting till you can clean yourself up, get older, are married or on your deathbed to pull this door open? II Corinthians 6:2 says, Behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation. Tomorrow is not promised, and you will never be able to clean yourself up. Pull the door open as you are. Revelation 3:20– Behold, I stand at the door and knock, If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Jesus is the perfect gentleman, and He created you with a free will. He will not force Himself into your life, but He has made it clear that He is the door to God and eternal life in Heaven. Will you pull that door open today and let Him in your life?
“Dear Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
In your name, Amen.”
