Living The Dream
Often we greet acquaintances with “Hello, how are you doing”… and sometimes the reply back is “I’m Okay, living the dream”.
So, I wonder what the dream is. Is it a small dream or big dream?
Small or big, all of us have dreams, ambitions and goals in life.
But did you know God has a dream for you too? …and our own dream pales in comparison to His.
Most people dream about owning a home, driving a new car, making big money, maintain a large savings account, retire early etc. …
While that seems nice, God says… For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Try this. What are PLANS? What is PROSPER? What is HOPE? What is a FUTURE? In your wildest dream could you ever define these words the way God defines them. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. (Isaiah 55:8) Now that’s the dream of all dreams! God’s dream!
Would you rather live out the dream God has for you? I hope so.
3 Keys to “Living The Dream” – God’s Dream For You.
Knowing your purpose; why you are here – The answer is quite simple. All of us are here because God put us here. Genesis 2:7 says “Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person”
You must have faith believing that God is the creator of the Heavens, earth, sun, moon and you! And that He gave His only Son for you. Think about it, God breathed life into you. No one really knows what life is. Scientist and scholars have debated the meaning of life for years. Only God knows what life is. He created it and breathed into you. Your purpose in life is to serve Him.
Knowing your meaning in life – Matthew 6:33 reads “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”.
Your meaning in life is to seek Him first… above and beyond anything else in your life. You can do this by witnessing to co-workers, praying with family and friends, loving your enemies, fasting, not judging others and loving God. Then His promise is “all these things will be added to you”. How’s that for a dream!
