Powerball: By The Numbers

There are five numbers… just five; well, and the Powerball too.

This past week the record $1.5 billion dollar Powerball ticket was drawn. Three people held the winning ticket and instantly became beneficiaries of the largest astronomical jackpot ever!

It sounds easy. Doesn’t it?

All you have to do is pick five numbers; well, and the Powerball too.

Hold on, not so fast… The odds are 1 in 292 million against you winning the Powerball.

Actually, the reality is a mother has better odds of giving birth to quadruplets without the help of fertility treatments – (1 in 729,000). You are more likely to be killed by an asteroid strike – (1 in 700,000) and the odds of being struck by lightning while simultaneously drowning are unfortunately better – (1 in 183 million)

And here is my favorite statistic; you have better odds of becoming an American billionaire by simply working for it – (1 in 575,097)

But still; all you have to do is pick five numbers; well, and the Powerball too.

What would you do if you won the Powerball?

Most people say; pay off bills while others say buy a Lamborghini, hire a personal chef or buy a private island.

Personally, I would buy the Cincinnati Reds (I wouldn’t have enough to buy the Steelers!).

And all you have to do is pick five numbers; well, and the Powerball too. All five numbers must be correct; you can’t be off even one number.

What would you do if you won the Powerball? (Dream)

Every Christian, those who have confessed their sins and asked Jesus for forgiveness, owns a Powerball ticket. Yes, that’s right.

The odds are simple – (1 in 1). All you have to do is believe in Jesus and what He did on the cross at Calvary. Once you do this then you are the owner of the Powerball! You own the winning ticket.

The winning ticket is the Holy Spirit. The Comforter that God sent us while we wait for the return of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit will teach you, He will guide you and He will talk to you.

There are five numbers and a Powerball that symbolizes the Holy Spirit; Just five numbers; well, and the Powerball too. You need every number to have this winning ticket.

Here are your winning Holy Spirit Powerball numbers. The best part is; He is free! No cost.

**The first winning number is WIND. The Wind represents power. In Acts 2:2, there was a mighty rushing wind and it filled the house. The Wind was powerful and it remains powerful today. God gave you power, love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7) You must have His power to tread on the enemy; the winning number WIND.

**The second winning number is FIRE. The Fire represents purity. Let’s be honest, we are not in war with other people, but we are in war with ourselves; our own flesh. The flesh is against the Spirit and the Spirit is against the flesh. (Galatians 5:17) The Fire will keep you pure and the Fire will test your work. (1 Corinthians 3:13) You must have His purity; the winning number FIRE.

**The third winning number is OIL. The Oil represents anointing. In Acts 10:38, God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and in 1 John 2:20, God anointed you! Through the anointing comes teaching, learning and all knowledge. You must have His anointing; the winning number OIL.

**The forth winning number is WATER. The Water represents refreshing. If anyone is thirsty then go to Jesus and have a tall glass of H2O. (John 7:37) There is nothing like cold refreshing water after a long hot day. When you repent and turn away from sin, the Lord will send you days of refreshing! (Acts 3:19) You must have His refreshing; the winning number WATER.

**The fifth winning number is THE DOVE. The Dove represents gentleness. In Luke 3:22 the Holy Spirit rested on Jesus in the form of a Dove. God will not force Himself on you; everything about Him is gentle. Remember, His yoke is easy and His burden is light! (Matthew 11:30) You must have His gentleness; the winning number THE DOVE.

So there you go, you now have all five winning numbers! How exciting is that?

But wait, there is more. Do you want to win substantially and double your winnings? Then you must have the POWERBALL too!

**The Powerball winning number is A STILL SMALL VOICE. The Prophet Elijah was depressed and fearfully running for his life; Jezebel had threatened to kill him! But Elijah had his hands on the winning ticket and it included the Powerball; A STILL SMALL VOICE! (1 Kings 19:11) God was speaking and Elijah chose to listen. The only way Christians win is if they hear His Still Small Voice.

John 10:27 says “My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me.” You must hear His Still Small Voice; that is your winning Powerball number!

The Holy Spirit! Your Powerball ticket!

Yes, we all can dream about big homes, nice cars and the best clothes. There isn’t anything wrong with that. God wants you to succeed!

However, you should succeed with caution because the world is passing away along with all of its desires, but whoever does the will of God remains forever! (1 John 2:17)

I will end with the same question from the beginning.

What would you do if you won the Powerball?

You have won it; just believe. Share it and pass it on to others. Leave it in your will; for your children and their children and their children. It’s called Heavenly Treasures!
